We started this site after a brief trip, and all-too-rarely-updated social journey photography site - hopes to become popular, intuitive understanding of China
So while SocialJourney.org will remain active, The Social Journey is where you'll find we latest work, drawn from professional assignments as much as projects:We shoot portraits, fashion, social, culture, even an occasional landscape - so you'll be seeing all of those here.
This will not be a diary, although it will be updated daily: the photos you'll see will be sometimes funny, sometimes tragic, often beautiful, or even repulsive, and on a particularly good day, all of the above.
Enjoy!
Wei Xia, august 2008

I was born in 1987 in the second poorest province per capita in China, Guizhou. Grow up in this city did not stop me become fascinated by technology, computer and entrepreneurship. Left China at age 14, I spent my much of youth in Canada. After earned two undergraduate degrees at age of 20, now I work as a risk analyst in Bank while pursuing my graduate degree.
Although left China early in life, I have never lift my eyes off China, and remain deeply interested in China’s economic reforms and social changes. After published a paper on the relationship between China’s economic development and financial development, I have co-founded this project with Xia Wei to study and raise awareness about the other often ignored changes in China – People.
George Liu, august 2008
He was born in 1986 and was amazed at computer and network when in middle school. While at college, he became a traveling and photographing lover. For himself, nothing else but his own dream is the most precious treasure. So he doesn't want to maintain the status quo.
He has a feeling for viewing the surroundings by traveling which he loves most. With cameras,he tries every effort to record the spirite of human,to trace the relationship between history and today, and to record people's happiness and sorrow for his fantastic trip.
Now, he is a typical man who is full of dissatisfactions with the dark side of society.
